Velocipede India Pale Ale
Inspired by the original name for the bicycle, Velocipede is hoppy and bitter with floral and pine aromas. This IPA is packed full of adventurous hops and citrus flavours that excite the palate and lead you to an enjoyably bitter finish. With four hops in the boil, and dry hopped with Centennial hops, this IPA is well-balanced and light copper in colour. Velocipede IPA is a true testament to the bicycle and the wild places you discover on the way.
An American Amber, Crimson Cascade pours a dark reddish copper colour. Lightly dry hopped with cascade hops, Crimson Cascade has aromas of citrus, floral and subtle caramel. On the palate, hints of caramel, tropical fruit and a balanced bitterness. With a full body and dry finish, Crimson Cascade is smooth and unique.
Sir John A Pale Ale
A refreshing, easy drinking pale ale that is well-balanced and pours a light copper colour. Medium body with aromas of citrus and caramel. On the palate, flavours of orange, biscuit and subtle spice. Finishing with a refreshing bitterness, this pale ale will quench your thirst throughout the year.
Mr. Templeton's Wee Heavy
Approved by our resident Scottish stag Mr. Templeton, this Wee Heavy is true to it's name. Full bodied, dark brown in colour and with aromas of biscuit and caramel. On the palate is a pronounced maltiness, caramel and slight sweetness that lingers at the back. Satisfying, malty, and strong just like its namesake, Mr. Templeton approves.
A refreshing, crisp wheat ale made with fresh raspberries, Recumbent Raspberry will lead you into the hot days of summer. With notable raspberry and biscuit aromas, and pouring a slightly pink hue, it is hard to miss the fresh raspberry flavour that lingers on your palate. Trillium IPA - SOLD OUT
Brewed with Mosaic, El Dorado and Amarillo hops, and generously dry hopped, this IPA is big, bold and flavourful. Aromas of mango, pineapple and berries; on the palate flavours of citrus, tropical fruit and subtle pine. Medium body, dry and pouring a deepstraw colour, Trillium IPA finishes with a bitterness that lingers. Brewed and poured by proud Ontarians.
Juan Almonte Jalapeno Pale Ale - SOLD OUT
Juan Almonte Jalapeno Pale Ale, made with a good number of fresh jalapenos, is unique, refreshing and subtly spicy. The distinguishable aromas of jalapeno and spice are complemented by the spicy and roasted taste of earthy jalapeno on the palate. A very subtle heat is balanced by a good malt backing allowing the flavour of jalapeno to linger. Similar, although not nearly as admirable as its namesake, the Mexican General (and the town Almonte), Juan Almonte is unique, bold and courageous.
Katana Matcha Lemon - SOLD OUT
This crisp and refreshing wheat ale is made with organic Matcha powdered green tea and fresh, hand zested lemons. Aromas of citrus, lemon zest, subtle sweetness and fresh greens; initial vegetal flavours from the Matcha is followed, and complimented by a lingering sweetness. Notable fresh lemon taste and a subtle citrus bitterness finishes this ale with a refreshing zest.

Brewed in celebration of Norouz (the Persian New Year celebrating the start of spring and the biggest Iranian holiday of the year), Saffron Equinox uses saffron sent from our Head Brewer's mom in Iran. Medium-light body and an amazingly unique aroma of pure saffron, this ale will welcome in the new year with the colour of the sun that will remind you of the warm days to come. Slightly cloudy, sunshine orange in colour and a smooth finish. Flavours of honey, hay and saffron on the palate and an aftertaste of saffron that lingers on the back of your tongue, this brew is distinct and one of a kind. Inspired by the suffragettes name for the bicycle, and brewed by our female brewer Laura, we're celebrating International Women's Day and women in the beer industry with Freedom Machine. Medium body, reddish-copper in colour and a subtle aroma of dark cherry, this pale ale is unique and satisfying. Betula Birch Gruit - SOLD OUT
Consistent with the ancient style of brewing, Betula Birch is a Gruit made with Yarrow, Birch leaves and Gentian Root. Aromas of sap, green leaves and floral. Flavours of wintergreen, sap and wood are complemented by a smooth maltiness. An enjoyable bitterness from the yarrow and gentian root lingers on the palate. Released for International Gruit Day, February 1st.
Vinternat Liquorice Stout - SOLD OUT
Danish for Winter Night, Vinternat is a liquorice stout that celebrates our darkest time of the year. Using Lakrids raw Persian liquorice root imported from Denmark, this stout is a collaboration brew with Jacobsons Gourmet Concepts in Ottawa. Nearly black in colour with a chocolatey head, Vinternat is full bodied and has aromas of roasted barley, dark chocolate and hints of liquorice. On the palate, a subtle sweetness, noticeable liquorice flavour and a cooling sensation unique to liquorice root.
Snow Leopard APA - SOLD OUT
Generously hopped with Mosaic and Waimea hops, this American Pale Ale is a tropical fruit paradise. On the nose, aromas of peach, and tropical fruits are complemented by the flavours of ataulfo mango, lemon and tropical fruits. A citrus taste and bitterness lingers on the palate leading to a smooth finish. Medium-full body with a lemony-copper colours, this APA is our brewmaster's favourite.

East of the Juniper Tree - SOLD OUT
Brewed in collaboration with North of 7 Distillery, East of the Juniper Tree is a pale ale with dried, Wakefield, Quebec grown juniper berries. This holiday brew has floral, pine and juniper aromas, is medium body and light copper in colour. Slightly bitter and with a noticeable juniper finish, we went easy on the hops to let the juniper shine.

Fireside Orange Cocoa - SOLD OUT
This brown ale has a medium-full body and carries orange and chocolate aromas and flavours. Dark chocolate in colour and with orange peel and organic cocoa nibs, the citrus flavours perfectly complement the bitter cocoa and lead you to a surprisingly refreshing finish and citrus bite. Our second brew for Party in the Pen, Edgewood Ave. is proudly a collaboration brew with Ottawa's Hidden Harvest. Using fresh elderberries harvested by us & Hidden Harvest volunteers right on Edgewood Ave. in Ottawa, this brew is truly craft. Subtle notes of Belgian yeast can be found on the nose and palate, as well as a sweet tartness of fresh elderberries. With a unique pink-purple hue, this brew is fresh, tart and truly Ottawa.

Isidore's Harvest Ale - SOLD OUT
Our second Harvest Ale of the season, Isidore's Harvest Ale 2015, is a medium bodied pale ale that uses fresh hand picked hops from St. Isidore. Using fresh Chinook hops, the aroma and taste of pine is subtle and earthy. Harvested and brewed the same day, this ale is fresh, local and down to earth.
City Hops Harvest Ale - SOLD OUT
City Hops, our first Harvest Ale of the season, uses fresh hops handpicked from Glen's garden in the city of Ottawa, the friendly barman at Sir John A Pub. A fresh, green earthiness on the nose is complemented by big citrus, a fresh hop grassy goodness and bready malt backbone on the palate. Using 100% fresh Centennial hops from the bine to the boil on the same day, this is a true local brew. Finishing with a slight bitterness that lingers at the back, City Hops is light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the summer.

Mountain of the Moon - SOLD OUT
Number 2 in our series of single hop American Pale Ales (APA), Mountain of the Moon lets El Dorado hops shine. Medium body, dark golden colour and an amazing aroma of watermelon and pear. On the palate, El Dorado gives this brew flavourful tropical fruit notes and a subtly bitter finish. In honour of Ottawa's winter, we've used grain that made the skate down the Rideau Canal to christen this brew!

Ring in the new year with 2015, a single hop American pale ale (APA). Using only unique New Zealand-grown Nelson Sauvin hops, this APA excites the palate, is medium in body and deep gold in colour. With characteristics similar to the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc, Nelson Sauvin exhibits an aroma similar to its namesake. On the palate, hints of passion fruit and pineapple are balanced by a slight earthiness and a pleasantly bitter finish.
